I went on a little class trip to Galway, and I got the chance to visit the O’Donoghue Centre for Drama, Theatre and Performance in NUIG, the University of Galway. It is a recent extension that I really like. The old sheds have been kept, and a circular element has been integrated inside. It is veru clear what is original and what is new, which is great in a conservation point of view. The space is beautiful and I love the detailed. I however think it is a shame that an interior’s team did not push to project to specifying furniture for the reception area, as the college put typical college-like material instead.
